Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd. saw sales increase 8 percent compared to last October and continues to lead the market for 2010. Products across the entire lineup showed positive results including car sales, which increased 18 percent, while CUV sales and truck sales rose 18 percent and 5 percent, respectively. Year-to-date, Ford Canada sales are up 20 percent.

"We're focused on delivering more cars and crossovers with the best fuel economy in the industry, creating great value for Canadian consumers," said David Mondragon, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. "This approach is attracting new customers to Ford, especially car buyers, and that momentum will continue next year with more new products like the 2012 Ford Focus."

Cars continue to be in the spotlight as Lincoln’s first-ever hybrid – the 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid – has had its first sale at Donway Ford Lincoln in Scarborough. Also recently announced, the 2011 Ford Fiesta won the category of "Best New Small Car under $21,000" at the annual Automobile Journalists Association of Canada's (AJAC) Car of the Year TestFest.

Helping to boost overall crossover sales, the newly redesigned, Canadian-built Ford Edge saw sales increase 40 percent while Lincoln MKX sales jumped 142 per cent. In addition to Fiesta's award, the 2011 Ford Edge won AJAC's "Best New CUV ($35,000 to $50,000)" during TestFest.
