Tufco reaches 1 million hours without lost-time injury

Tufco Technologies Inc. on June 22 announced that as of May 30, its employees had worked over one million hours without a lost time injury at its Green Bay facility. This facility previously met this goal in 2003, when it recorded more than 1.5 million consecutive hours without a lost time injury.

Lou LeCalsey, Tufco's president and CEO, commented, "This significant achievement is a sign that the Green Bay facility has instituted an extremely high level of safety awareness into its culture. Associates are being proactive and disciplined when it comes to safety issues. They benefit from it by working in a safe, comfortable, efficient plant environment and by being able to return from work to their families without work related injuries. Everyone is encouraged to make safety the top priority in the work that they do at Tufco."

The company was a Wisconsin Corporate Safety Award Grand Recipient in 2005. The Wisconsin Council of Safety (WCS) and the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) presented this award. Tufco previously was a grand recipient of this award in 2001 and received safety excellence recognition in 2002, 2003 and 2004.
