As pressures build on businesses everywhere to do more with less, a North Carolina beekeeping supply company is being recognized for changes that allowed it to add $2 million in sales. This is according to an article written by the Associated Press.

North Carolina State University’s Industrial Extension Service is showing off Brushy Mountain Bee Farm on June 3 as an example of what lean manufacturing principals can do for companies. In a little over two years, the Wilkes County company has been able to double to 50 employees to keep up with expanding demand for products beekeepers use to maintain their hives. An extension service lean production specialist showed the Moravian Falls company how changes from the carpentry shop to the warehouse let employees work more efficiently.
