Ecolab announced February 2 that it has earned a Process Excellence Award for “Best Start Up Program” at the 10th annual Lean Six Sigma & Process Improvement Summit recently held in Orlando, Fla.

The conference is the largest of its kind in the United States, bringing together the major thought leaders in the Lean Six Sigma and Process Improvement industry. This year’s panel of judges included respected industry experts to evaluate applicants in a variety of areas focused on organizational transformation.

The award for “Best Start Up Program” recognizes the achievements of new Lean Six Sigma and Process Excellence programs that have been deployed for a relatively short time within an organization. Ecolab was judged on direction setting, delivering business benefits and initial culture change around its Lean Six Sigma efforts.

“Ecolab created significant momentum and sustainability in our Lean Six Sigma deployment,” said Jeff Burt, vice president and global deployment leader for Lean Six Sigma at Ecolab. “Extensive upfront planning, combined with a high level of executive engagement has created a successful launch of our LSS program. It has also created strong leadership and talent development opportunities for our associates, as well as a culture that continues to support our efforts to streamline operations while maintaining a strong customer focus.”

With sales of $5.5 billion, Ecolab is a global leader in cleaning, sanitizing, food safety and infection prevention products and services. Ecolab delivers comprehensive programs and services to the foodservice, food and beverage processing, healthcare, and hospitality markets in more than 160 countries.
