Renowned author/educator Terry Wireman, CPMM, will conduct a set of Webinars for the Association for Facilities Engineering based on his new 10-volume "Maintenance Strategy" series of books published by Industrial Press.

Wireman is vice president, strategic development, for Vesta Partners LLC. A longtime member of AFE and a holder of its Certified Plant Maintenance Manager credential, he is well known for his previous books and training sessions held throughout the U.S. and abroad.

"We're extremely pleased to work with Terry and share his expertise with the entire facilities community," AFE chief executive officer Laurence Gration said. "AFE regularly offers educational sessions of this caliber, delivered in this format, for our members. Because of Terry's acclaim and because our association wants to foster excellence in all facilities, we're opening up this special series of Webinars to the public as well."

The Webinar series for AFE is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET on May 2, June 6, July 11, August 1, September 5, October 3, November 7 and December 5 in 2008 and January 9 and February 6 in 2009.

Each Webinar will focus on topics covered in each book. For example, the May 2 session will focus on topics in Volume 1: developing a preventive maintenance program, identifying equipment to include in PM; how to develop PM requirements for equipment; how to develop PM task sheets; determining skill requirements, parts requirements and scheduling requirements for PM tasks; executing PM tasks; consistent PM program follow-up; and performance management for PM programs.

Subsequent books in the series will concentrate on MRO inventory and purchasing; maintenance work management processes, successfully utilizing CMMS/EAM systems, training programs for maintenance operations; predictive maintenance for equipment reliability, operations support for maintenance and reliability, Reliability-Centered Maintenance strategies, Total Productive Maintenance, and continuous improvement techniques for maintenance and reliability.

Cost is $99 each for AFE members plus a 20 percent discount on the books and free shipping. Members get a 15 percent discount on registration if they sign up for all 10 sessions. Non-members are welcome; their cost is $150 for each session.
