'Dream It. Do It.' profile on an industrial designer

The goal of the “Dream It. Do It.” campaign is to help young adults find careers that they can be passionate about in one of manufacturing’s many exciting sectors. Whether someone is interested in cars or computers or music or even art, there’s a great job waiting for them in manufacturing.

 

In this video, Kurt Solland talks about his job as an industrial designer at Harman Multimedia. Basically, he designs computer speakers, but not your run-of-the-mill grey boxes. Take a look at the cutting-edge creations Kurt gets paid to invent. He starts with sketches, then moves on to 3-D computer modeling before sculpting his futuristic designs in foam. After that, it's on to production and into stores around the world.
