LEDdynamics announced receiving the Popular Science "Best of 2007 Innovation Award" in the Green Tech category, for the EverLED-TR product line. The EverLED-TR is a fluorescent tube replacement which utilizes existing fluorescent ballasts while achieving the equivalent light output of the tube it replaces, making it the world's first true LED replacement for linear fluorescent lighting.

"The LEDdynamics team is honored to win this award. It's a victory for the entire LED industry." said William McGrath, president and chief technology officer. "Popular Science has recognized the environmental cost to dispose of 680 million mercury filled fluorescent tubes yearly, and found a cleaner, greener light source with LEDs by using the EverLED-TR."

Introduced in May 2007, the EverLED-TR is taking a leadership position in the lighting market. According to Popular Science magazine, LEDdynamics EverLED-TR is the only lighting solution, LED or otherwise, to win the 2007 Green Tech award.

"For 20 years, Popular Science's Best of What's New awards honor the innovations that make a positive impact on life today and change our views of the future," says Mark Jannot, editor. "PopSci's editors evaluate thousands of products each year to develop this thoughtful list, there's no higher accolade Popular Science can give."

"It's the EverLED-TR's ability to work with existing fluorescent ballasts and quality of the light produced, which were deciding factors for PopSci's evaluation team." said Jonathan Wish, chief strategic officer. "They recognize the need for LED solutions which do not require costly removal or modification of existing systems. Because the end-user can simply 'drop-in' the EverLED-TR, switching to LED technology has never been easier."

Made of recyclable materials and boasting a 10 year service life, the patent pending EverLED-TR is leading the LED revolution.
